The Bangladesh International Hotel Association (BIHA), the apex trade body representing the country’s luxury and international hotel and resort sector, officially hosted the Installation Ceremony of its newly elected Executive Committee (2026–2028) today, August 2, 2026, at Hall De Grand (Level2), Golden Tulip The Grandmark-Dhaka, Banani.
Mr. M. Rashiduzzaman Millat, MP, Hon’ble State Minister for the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, graced the occasion as the Hon’ble Chief Guest.
Organized under the overarching theme “Celebrating Leadership • Unity • Excellence,” the landmark event marks a significant milestone in driving strategic growth, policy alignment, and international standards across Bangladesh's expanding tourism and hospitality ecosystem.
The ceremony brought together high-level government dignitaries, industry leaders, hotel owners, and key policy stewards. Distinguished officials attending included senior officials from the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism (MoCAT—alongside key officials from the Directorate of Trade Organizations (DGTO) and the Ministry of Commerce, including BIHA Administrator Md. Shajebur Rahman.
Speaking during the ceremony, incoming BIHA President Mr. Nasser Rahman, MP, highlighted the association's commitment to positioning Bangladesh as a premium destination in global tourism:
"As Bangladesh's hospitality landscape undergoes rapid expansion, BIHA remains dedicated to fostering unity, elevating operational excellence, and collaborating closely with key government ministries to build a sustainable, world-class tourism infrastructure."
Mr. Khaled Ur Rahaman, Immediate Past President of BIHA (2024–2025), emphasized the importance of leadership continuity:
"This transition signifies the resilience and collective strength of our member hotels. We are confident that the incoming committee will continue to champion policy advocacy and elevate industry standards nationwide."
The gathering convened Managing Directors, Chief Executive Officers, General Managers, and owners from leading international and luxury hotels & resorts across Bangladesh.
