At least 19 people taking part in a religious pilgrimage in Mexico died in a bus crash on Friday, authorities said.

At least 19 people were killed and three injured Saturday in an accident on the highway that connects Mexico City with the central city of Puebla, authorities said.

Mexico’s government on Saturday reported 2,192 new confirmed coronavirus deaths, one of its biggest one-day tolls during the pandemic, after consolidating data from last year to include deaths that were not confirmed at the time.
