Martyred Intellectuals Day

Different political, social, cultural and prominent groups observed the 50th Martyred Intellectuals Day with horror and shame across the country. A series of events were organized by various NGOs, Universities, Ulemas and Imams to mark the day.

President M Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid rich tributes to the martyred intellectuals by placing wreath at the Martyred Intellectuals Memorial at Mirpur this morning, marking Martyred Intellectuals Day.

The nation is observing the Martyred Intellectuals Day today in a befitting manner to recall the intellectuals who were killed by the Pakistani occupation forces on this day in 1971.
