The new head coach of the Bangladesh National Football Team Javier Cabrera has arrived in Dhaka.
He landed at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport from Spain on Saturday night, said a press release from the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF).
The 37-year-old Cabrera said, “Finally I arrived in Dhaka. And I’m very happy here.”
I want to meet all the team players at the federation, he added.
Earlier, the BFF on January 8 named Javier Cabrera as the new head coach of the Bangladesh National Football Team till December 2022.
Cabrera has never managed any national team or club as a head coach as yet. He last acted as the academy coach of LaLiga side Deportivo Alaves. From 2013 to 2015, he worked as the technical director of Sporting Goa.
Cabrera was in charge of FC Barcelona Academy as a head coach in Northern Virginia for 4 months in 2018.
