Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) on Saturday officially named Spanish coach Javier Cabrera as the new head coach of the Bangladesh National Football Team.
The 37-year-old has been appointed for a one-year term, which is scheduled to end in December 2022.
The Spanish coach’s first assignment as the head coach of Bangladesh will be in Indonesia in two FIFA friendly matches against them in Bali on January 24 and 27.
Cabrera has never managed any national team or club as a head coach as yet. He last acted as the academy coach of LaLiga side Deportivo Alaves. From 2013 to 2015, he worked as the technical director of Sporting Goa.
Cabrera was in charge of FC Barcelona Academy as a head coach in Northern Virginia for 4 months in 2018.
