Day released, Bruzon appointed as interim coach

The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) appointed Spanish coach Oscar Bruzon as they have decided to release current men’s national team coach Jamie Day.

the National Teams Committee (NTC) chairman and BFF vice-president Kazi Nabil Ahmed informed the matter to the media at BFF House Friday.

According to Kazi Nabil Ahmed, Jamie, who had been appointed in 2018, has not been sacked but he has been relieved of his duty for the next two months as the result of the last two tournaments in Nepal and Kyrgyzstan were not satisfactory.

He said, “We discussed the matter with BFF president Kazi Salahuddin. We have decided to release Jamie from his responsibilities for two months. During this period, Bashundhara Kings’ coach Bruzon will take his responsibility.”

The 13th edition of the SAFF Championship is set to start from October 1 to 16.

Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka on October 1 and India on October 4.
