Mohammedan Sporting Club captain Shakib Al Hasan has been banned for three matches and fined Tk 500,000 for his arrogancy during a Dhaka Premier League match against Abahani on Friday.
He will miss the eighth, ninth, tenth and eleventh round of the tournament.
Masuduzzaman, Cricket Committee Chairman of Mohammedan Sporting Club confirmed the matter to the media on Saturday.
During the match against Abahani, Shakib lost his temper not once, but twice. He kicked the stumps over when the umpire refused a leg-before appeal against Mushfiqur Rahim in the 5th over.
Shakib uprooted the stumps in the very next over when the umpire called for the covers to be brought out due to rain before the final ball of the sixth over.
In addition, he exchanged heated words between Abahani coach and Bangladesh Cricket Board director Khaled Mahmud while returning to the dressing room.
Dear fans and followers, I am extremely sorry for losing my temper and ruining the match for everyone and especially...
