Mashrafe in Weforum’s 112 Young Global Leaders list

Former Bangladesh national cricket team captain and current law-maker from Narail-2 constituency Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has been selected as the Young Global Leader in World Economic Forum (Weforum).

The list published by the World Economic Forum on Wednesday showed that Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has been selected among the 112 Young Global Leaders for 2021.

Mashrafe, also a member of parliament, is on the top 15 of the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders list.

About Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Young Global Leaders said on their website, “Aside from cricket, he has also played a significant role in helping people move out of the poverty trap in his hometown Narail.”

They mentioned that the Narail Express Foundation, launched by Mashrafe to achieve six goals, including offer modern facilities for citizens and a specialized education system, help start an ethical and humane education system, create employment opportunities, increase cultural activities, provide sports training, set up a tourism hub in Chitra river, and transform Narail into information and communications technology (ICT) and environmentally friendly town.

Each year, the Forum of Young Global Leaders goes through a rigorous selection process to identify, select and commemorate remarkable leaders under 40 who come from different communities and industries worldwide.

The World Economic Forum picked a total of 10 South Asians, including Mashrafe.
