Tigers in trouble after quick strikes

Bangladesh are in trouble after quick strikes in the first T20I of the two-match series against Afghanistan at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.

Electing to bat first, the Tigers managed to score 110-4 in 15 overs.

Opener Mohammad Naim, who scored just 2 off 5, has been removed by Fazalhaq Farooqi while debutant Munim Shahriar began his international career in style but can’t continue it.

The debutant fell to Rashid Khan for a leg before after scoring 17 off 18 balls.

Another leg spinner Qais Ahmad picked the wicket of Shakib Al Hasan soon after the dismissal of Munim. Shakib scored 5 off 6.

Skipper Mahmudullah started well but Azmatullah Omarzai forced him to go to the pavilion with a superb delivery.

Liton Das is the only warrior for Bangladesh who remained on the pitch with an unbeaten 51 off 36 with the help of two fours and two sixes.

Afif Hossain, who remained unbeaten on 20 off 18, joins Liton in the pitch in the re-building process.

Earlier, Bangladesh have won the toss and elected to bat first. Munim Shahriar and Yasir Ali Rabbi made their debut following their impressive performances in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
