Bangladesh ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal has decided to take a temporary break from the T20 internationals for the next six months.
The dashing opener made the disclosure in a press conference at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Thursday.
However, he might return to the T20 World Cup squad if he is needed ahead of the World Cup in Australia in October.
“I am not considering a comeback to T20 international cricket for the next six months,” said Tamim.
My focus will be on Tests and ODIs in this period, he told the media.
Earlier, Tamim opted out of the T20I World Cup squad to make way for the young cricketers.
