Mominul, Liton guide Tigers to big lead

The 150-run plus partnership between skipper Mominul Haque and Liton Das helped Bangladesh to take lead in the first innings against New Zealand on the third day of the first Test at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on Monday.
Tigers took lead early on the final session of the day. Till the report, Bangladesh moved on to 360 for four after 139 overs, with a 32-run lead. Both Mominul and Liton seemed comfortable in the pitch as they remained unbeaten on 88 and 76 respectively.
After starting the day with 175-2, Bangladesh had a tough morning session on day three as they managed to score just 45 runs for the loss of two wickets before lunch.
Bangladesh went into lunch at 220 for four with Mominul unbeaten on 17 off 98 and Liton on 12 off 17.
Mahmudul Hasan Joy, who was unbeaten on 70, has added just 8 runs on the third day and Mushfiqur Rahim made just 12. Neil Wagner removed Joy while Trent Boult bowled out Mushfiq in the first session of the day.
Bangladesh bundled out New Zealand for 328 just before lunch on the second day.
For New Zealand, Devon Conway scored a superb 122; Henry Nicholls, the last man to fall, scored 75; and opener Will Young bagged 52.
Off-spinner Mehedi Hasan Miraz led the bowling unit to destroy the New Zealand line-up as he ended with figures of three for 86 in 32 overs. Pacer Shoriful Islam also picked up 3 wickets while skipper Mominul scalped two.
