Laylatul Qadr is considered to be the Islamic calendar’s Holiest eve. Muslims consider it the night of the 27th day of Ramadan or one of the odd-numbered nights of the last 10 days of the month.
It is called the Night of Power because it is an appropriate representation of Allah’s Power in showing mercy and forgiveness to His creations.
Allah’s Dhikr is one of the best, if not the best, means of asking for his mercy and securing forgiveness, which we all so desperately need. Here are 6 ways to avail the great offers of the auspicious day:
Recite the Holy Quran
Reciting the Holy Quran is one of the best ways to remember Allah. Scholars and Fuqaha of all walks of life advise Muslims to read the Quran as much as possible, as it is considered the ideal means of dispelling Allah’s anger and calling upon the kind nature and his forgiveness.
Dedication to Salah
Salah is also a way of remembrance of Allah; it is perhaps the strongest bond one establishes with Allah as it is the fully conscious recognition of standing before Him. Given the auspicious nature of the night and the desire of Allah to express his love for his creations, Salah is certainly the path to success.
Making dua
Making dua is essentially a means of personalized communication with Allah. It is a means by which one can accurately express one’s deepest feelings and insecurities to Allah. The goal here is to show Allah that one is completely powerless before Him and totally dependent on Him. On such a night, He will surely answer our prayers.
Asking for forgiveness
The Almighty has promised forgiveness and will do it. Allah loves deeply when His creations ask Him for forgiveness and remorse for their sins. On a day when he wants to show his benevolent nature, perhaps there is no better outcome for this deal than asking him to do so.
Engage in as many good deeds as possible
Allah has promised that the reward for all our good deeds will be multiplied on the Night of Power which means that every good deed we do will also be capable of doing please Allah in many ways.
Avoid sin as much as possible
It will be sad to disappoint Allah on the day He openly wishes to forgive His creations. For at least a day, try to stay away from sin as much as possible. A good way to do this is to avoid interacting with people or places that invite you to do wrong on a day like Night of Power, take your time and try to satisfy the Almighty of both worlds.
