Dua for Laylat al-Qadr

Laylat al-Qadr, also known as the night of power, is considered to be the Islamic calendar’s Holiest eve.

This is a night of fantastic commemoration and devotion to Allah and places higher than that of 1,000 months.

The exact date of Laylat al-Qadr is not specified, but it is believed to occur on one of the last 10 days of the month of Ramadan. Many Muslims consider it the night of the 27th day of Ramadan or one of the odd-numbered nights of the last 10 days of the month.

As no one knows exactly which night marks Laylat-al-Qadr, most Muslims observe the last 10 nights of Ramadan by praying more and reading the Holy Quran. The designated dua for Laylat al-Qadr is:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ كَرِيمٌ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

Allahumma innaka Afuwwun [Karimun] tuhibbul afwa fafu annee

Meaning: O Allah, indeed You are Pardoning, [Generous,] You love to pardon, so forgive me
