The health condition of Malaysia’s former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad is stable and responding well to the treatment, reports the country’s New Straits Times citing the hospital officials.
Several rumors have been spread on social media over the health condition of Mahathir Mohamad. Many posts shared on social media claimed that the health condition of the ex-prime minister deteriorates.
Following this, several media person gathered in the National Heart Institute (IJN) and keep a close watch on the condition of Mahathir, who is being hospitalized here.
However, no latest official statement has been issued so far by Mahathir’s family or the hospital authority.
Earlier, Marina Mahathir, daughter of Mahathir, on Saturday evening said that Mahathir was in stable condition, and responding well to treatment.
On Sunday, she said in a statement that the family thanked people for their prayers and well wishes and hoped people would ignore rumors spread about him by uninformed sources.
Rumors over his health condition were addressed last Saturday.
Mahathir, who has a history of heart issues, has been admitted to the National Heart Institute two times this month.
He was admitted to the hospital on December 16 last year for a full medical check-up. He was later discharged on December 22.
