The United States has not invited Bangladesh to US President Joe Biden’s virtual summit for Democracy.
The White House published a list of 110 countries that are supposed to join the virtual summit.
India, Pakistan and Nepal have been invited from the South Asian region while Afghanistan and Sri Lanka also did not make it.
The virtual summit is scheduled to be held on December 9-10.
The White House has invited Taiwan to the summit and the move is likely to increase tension between US and China.
However, China, Turkey and Russia are not included in the list.
Only Israel, which is considered a major non-Nato ally by the US, and Iraq will take place in the virtual conference among the Middle East countries.
Meanwhile, traditional Arab allies of the US - Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates - have not been invited.
