Pfizer vaccine to be administered from Monday

The health authorities of the country have decided to inoculation Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines in Dhaka from Monday.

Dr. Md Shamsul Haque, line director at the Directorate General of Health Services, confirmed the matter on Sunday.

A total of 360 people will receive the vaccine on Monday at three centers in Dhaka, including Sheikh Russel Gastro Liver Institute and Hospital, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University and Kurmitola General Hospital.

A total of 120 people will receive the vaccine during the initial run of the inoculation drive for the next seven days.

Those who registered in these three hospitals will get the vaccine.

However, the regular campaign will start after the observation period, Dr. Shamsul Haque added.

Earlier on May 31, the first consignment of 100,620 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine arrived in Dhaka.
