Movement restrictions extended till July 15

The government has extended the ongoing nationwide strict restrictions for another month.

The restrictions will remain effective till July 15 to curb coronavirus infections. 

The Cabinet Division issued a gazette notification in this regard on Wednesday.

According to the notification, any marriage or birthday ceremony, picnic party, political and religious programs, which could make public gatherings, will have to be kept stopped during the period.

All government, non-government, autonomous organizations, banks and other financial institutions will be open maintaining health guidelines.

All tourist spots, resorts, community and recreation centers will be kept shut down.

However, restaurants can provide takeaway and online services and serve food at half capacity between 6 am to 10 pm.

Deputy commissioners of high-risk districts will take necessary measures to restrain the coronavirus spread in respective areas after discussing with the concerned committees.

All kinds of public transports, including inter-district buses, can carry passengers at half capacity, maintaining health guidelines including wearing of facemasks by passengers and all concerned.

Earlier, the government imposed limited restrictions from April 5 to April 11 in a bid to curb the spread of coronavirus infections.

The country went into an eight-day strict restrictions from April 14. Later, the restrictions was extended till June 16 in phases.
