Maldives President arrives Dhaka

Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has arrived in Dhaka on Wednesday morning on a three-day official visit to join celebrations of Bangladesh’s golden jubilee of independence and birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
President M Abdul Hamid welcomed the Maldivian President at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 8:30 am.
Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will be staying at the Intercontinental Hotel in the capital. He will visit Bangabandhu’s home in Dhanmondi 32 and then go to Savar.
He will also join the National Parade Square (Ground) function at Tejgaon in the afternoon.
A 10-day special program will begin at the National Parade Ground on March 17 marking both of the two occasions.
Maldives President will be followed by four other chiefs of state and government from Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and India.
Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa will arrive in Dhaka on a two-day visit from March 19 while Nepalese President Bidya Devi Bhandari’s two-day Dhaka tour starts from March 22 and Bhutanese Prime Minister Lotay Tshering is scheduled to visit Bangladesh from March 23-25.
Besides, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Dhaka on March 26.
