BNP leader Iqbal Hossain, 2 no. ward councilor of Narayanganj City Corporation has been arrested by RAB-11 in a case filed against him for sabotage during the Hefajat’s demonstration.
He was arrested from his house in the Mizmiji area of Siddhirganj around 1:00 am on Tuesday.
Confirming the matter, RAB-11 Additional Superintendent of Police Md Jasim Uddin Chowdhury said Councilor Iqbal Hossain was the accused in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act and obstruction of government work.
The police and RAB filed 6 cases with the Siddhirganj Police Station for the day-long violence in the Hefajat’s demonstration. In these cases, 133 people were named and another 3700 people were made unidentified accused.
