Truck-car collision leaves 5 dead in Chattogram

At least five people were killed and three others injured in a collision between a private car and a truck in Lohagora upazila of Chattogram early Monday.

Among the deceased, two were identified as Harunur Rashid, 30, and Saidul, 33, while the identity of others is yet to be ascertained.

Sirajul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Dohazari highway police station confirmed the matter to Dhaka Post.

He said the Cox’s Bazar-bound speeding private car crashed into a truck beside the highway in front of the Padua UP office, leaving two people dead on the spot and five others injured.

Two others died on their way to Chattogram Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) and another died while undergoing treatment in the hospital, he added.

The three injured are currently undergoing treatment at the CMCH.
