Md Monirul Islam, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, also chief of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit, has been made chief of police’s Special Branch (SB).
The Public Security Department of the Home Ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard on Sunday.
Monirul Islam joined the police service as an Assistant Superintendent of Police in 1995.
Earlier, he was promoted to the head of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit of the police on 14 February 2016.
