3 hacked to death in Gazipur over ‘Facebook comment’

Three people were killed and several others were injured in a clash over comments on a Facebook post.

The incident took place at Aral village of Shommania union under Gazipur’s Kapasia upazila on Saturday night.

The deceased were identified as Nayeem Hossain, 18, Faruk Hossain, 26, and Robin, 24.

Kapasia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) AFM Nasim said that the clash between inhabitants of Kapasia and Monohordi upazila under Narsingdi district happened around 11:30 pm last night.

Three youths were killed and several others were injured in the incident. The injured were admitted to Manohardi Upazila Health Complex in Narsingdi, he added.

We are investigating the incident and actions are underway to arrest those involved in the incident, he concluded.
