In-person classes at primary schools resume

In-person classes at primary schools across the country resumed on Wednesday following the health guidelines properly.

Earlier, the government on February 18 decided to resume in-person classes at primary schools from March 1 in view of the declining COVID-19 cases across Bangladesh.

In-person classes at all secondary, higher secondary and university-level educational institutions resumed on February 22.

Earlier, the government announced the closure of all the schools and colleges across the country from January 21 to February 6 amid a surge in COVID-19 cases due to the dominant Omicron variant.

The shutdown was later extended till February 20 considering the safety of the students.

The students in Bangladesh returned to their classrooms on September 12 last year after a 17-month closure. The government shut the educational institutions on March 17, 2020, after the country reported its first COVID-19 cases on 8 March and later the closure was extended several times.
