95.26% pass in HSC, equivalent exams

A total of 95.26 percent students have passed in the 2021 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations across the country.

The pass rate of HSC is 95.57 percent, 95.49 percent in madrasa and 92.85 percent in vocational.

The number of students who obtained GPA-5 jumped this year again as around 1.89 lakh students got GPA-5 this year, 27,362 more than the previous year.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina unveiled the HSC and equivalent examinations results joining virtually from her official residence Ganabhaban on Sunday morning. The event took place at the International Mother Language Institute auditorium in the capital.

In the result inauguration program, the Prime Minister said that today’s students will be the future of the country.

She hoped the students will take lessons keeping in mind that they have to contribute to building the nation and forward the country ahead.

Earlier, Chairmen of 11 educational boards, nine general boards, one madrasha education board and one technical education board, handed over their results.

On behalf of the prime minister, Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni received the results as the special guest.

The examinees will be able to get their results from their respective exam centers and online, and through sending SMS from mobile phones.

About 14 lakh students appeared in the HSC and equivalent examinations in 2021. Of them, 7.30 lakh are male and 6.70 lakh are female.

The HSC and equivalent examinations began on December 2 and ended on December 30 in 2021 while the examinations were held with a short syllabus due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation.
