24 SUST students go on hunger strike demanding VC’s resignation

A total of 24 students among the protesting students of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) have started an indefinite hunger strike demanding the resignation of Vice-Chancellor Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed.
They went to the strike in front of the residence of the vice-chancellor of the university around 3:00 pm on Wednesday.
Earlier, the protesting students have given an ultimatum to him to resign by noon today.
They also demanded withdrawal of the case against them filed by the police.
Police filed a case accusing 200-300 unnamed students over attempting murder.
On Sunday evening, at least 30 students of the university were injured after police attack on them following the direction of the vice-chancellor of the university.
