20% infected with Omicron: BSMMU study

Twenty percent of the positive cases reported in the last one month across the country were infected with the Omicron variant.
A study conducted by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) has revealed such information.
BSMMU Vice Chancellor Professor Md Sharfuddin Ahmed said during a press briefing on Tuesday.
The samples were collected from December 8 last year to January 8.
Samples of 769 patients from all divisions were analyzed for the study.
According to the study, patients who had cancer, diabetes, respiratory and heart problems, are in the high numbers of the death rate.
