Bangladesh announces 7-day lockdown from Monday

The government has announced a seven-day nationwide lockdown from Monday to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.
Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport & Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader made the announcement on Saturday.
He told reporters that considering the worsen COVID-19 situation in the country, such a decision has been made by the government.
The number of daily infections and deaths from coronavirus are on the rise in the country suddenly.
Bangladesh reported record 6,830 new cases in the past 24 hours till Friday. The tally of infections has reached 6,24,594 in the country.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the country witnessed 50 new fatalities in the last 24 hours which brings the total tally of deaths to 9,155.
