All school students to get first dose by January 31

The government are planning to ensure the first dose of coronavirus vaccine for the unvaccinated school students by January 31.

Students will be able to get the vaccine by showing their identity cards only.

Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni came up with the development during a press briefing at the secretariat on Monday.

Dipu Moni said, “A large number of students have been vaccinated already. We are planning to provide all the students at least the first dose of the vaccine by this month.”

She further said that educational institutions across the country will carry on classes as they are now.

According to Dipu Moni, a total of 77 lakh students aged between 12 and 18 are still out of vaccination. 

There are over 1.16 crore students, aged between 12 and 18. Among them, so far, 44 lakh students received the first dose of the vaccine while over 4 lakh got two doses.
