At least 8 people went missing after a motorboat hit by a Dhaka-bound launch capsized in the Dhaleshwari river in Narayanganj on Wednesday morning.
The motorboat sank around 9:00 am in the Dharmaganj ghat of Fatullah this morning.
According to the witnesses and locals, around 15-20 people were on board during the accident. A Dhaka-bound launch from Barishal hit the boat and it capsized.
On information, two units of fire service have rushed to the spot and started the rescue operations.
Later, members of the Bangladesh Coast Guard and River Police joined the rescue operation.
At least 8 people are still missing while others could swim to ashore, as per the fire service personnel.
