4 held over torching buses in Rampura

The members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) claimed to have arrested four persons including the ‘mastermind’ behind torching and vandalizing buses in Rampura on November 29.

The ‘mastermind’ has been identified as Monir Hossain while the names of three others could not be known immediately.

According to the RAB officials, these four were arrested during raids at Rampura and Cumilla.

RAB are scheduled to hold a press conference later in the day.

Notably, an SSC candidate named Md Mainuddin Islam was killed when a Green Anabil Paribahan bus hit him in the Rampura area of the capital on November 29.

Following this, agitated people blocked the road at night. At that time 8-10 buses were vandalized and set on fire.

The police filed a case with Hatirjheel police station and Rampura police station for vandalism and arson.
