Quader Mirza resigns from Companiganj Awami League

Abdul Quader Mirza, Mayor of Noakhali’s Basurhat Municipality, has announced his resignation from Companiganj Upazila Awami League.
He took Facebook to announce his resignation.
In a Facebook live, he said, “I have become a bad person to all as I spoke out against all the wrongdoings. I will not be at a party where there is no respect. But I will cooperate with the good leaders and workers of the party.”
However, he notified that he will continue to work from Bangabandhu Education and Research Council.
In addition, he urged Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to expel corrupt people from the party.
Later, at 12:30 pm, in a Facebook post, he wrote, “I have resigned from the post of a member of the Companiganj Upazila Awami League. In the future, I will not participate in any election and I will not hold any party post.”
