Ekushey Padak winning journalist Reaz Uddin passes away

Ekushey Padak winning senior journalist Reaz Uddin Ahmed, editor of The Financial Herald, has passed away at around 1:30 pm on Saturday.

Confirming the matter, National Press Club President Farida Yasmin told Dhaka Post that Reaz Uddin Ahmed breathed his last at around 1:30 pm.

He was in the ICU of United Hospital in the capital after contacting coronavirus, she added.

Reaz Uddin Ahmed was the founder and editor of The Financial Express and The News Today.

He was also the four-time elected President of the National Press Club, secretary of the Dhaka Journalists Union and President of the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists.

Reaz Uddin Ahmed was awarded the Ekushey Padak in 1993 for his glorious contribution to journalism.
