Nationwide booster dose campaign after updating ‘Surokkha’ app

The nationwide campaign for COVID-19 vaccine booster dose will start after updating the ‘Surokkha’ app, said Health Minister Zahid Maleque.

The minister made the remarks while addressing the media at the secretariat on Tuesday.

Currently, the senior citizens and frontliners are receiving booster doses on a priority basis.

People aged over 60 and frontliners across the country will be able to get booster doses with the vaccination card, said the minister.

The nationwide campaign for booster doses will start at the end of this month. Now the ICT ministry is working to prepare the ‘Surokkha’ app for the campaign, he added.

Bangladesh started administering COVID-19 vaccine booster shots on a trial basis on Sunday.

The Pfizer vaccines have been used at this phase as it has been approved by the World Health Organization (WHO).
