Booster shots for frontliners, over 60s from this month: Zahid

The government has planned to start administering booster doses this month.

Health Minister Zahid Maleque came up with the statement after a cabinet meeting on Monday morning.

Preparations are underway for the booster doses as 2,500 vaccination booths have already been set up, said Zahid Maleque.

The frontliners and people aged over 60 will get the booster doses first on a priority basis, he added.

Earlier, the National Technical Advisory Committee on COVID-19 advised the health ministry to administrate booster doses.

The minister requested those who have not yet been vaccinated against the coronavirus.
