Metro rail makes trial run from Uttara to Agargaon

The country’s first ever metro train completed a performance test from Uttara to Agargaon for the first time on Sunday.
The train, which started its journey from Uttara’s Diabari at around 9:39 am, reached Agargaon station at 11:00 am this morning.
The train came up to Mirpur-10 at 100 kmph while it reached Agargaon at 15 kmph. Throughout the journey, the train crossed 11.73 km area.
MAN Siddique, managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited, said that the metro rail will start its commercial operation from December 16 next year after completing all tests by next September.
Meanwhile, the metro rail will start passenger service from Motijheel in December 2023, he added.
Earlier on August 29, the first trial run of a metro train was conducted from Uttara to Pallabi.
