University student killed after lorry hits motorcycle in Dhaka

A university student named Limon was killed after a lorry hit him in the airport area of the capital.

Asad Sheikh, sub-inspector of Airport Police Station, confirmed the matter on Saturday morning.

He died on the spot after a lorry hit his motorcycle in front of the Padma Gate in the airport area between 3:00 am to 4:00 am on Friday night, he said.

His body was recovered and sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

Police seized the lorry and brought it to the Police Station while the driver fled after the accident. Attempts are being made to arrest the driver, he added.

Limon’s uncle Imam Hasan told Dhaka Post that Limon was a fourth-year student in the textile engineering department of Green University. His hometown is in the Joypurhat district.
