Notre Dame College student killed by DSCC vehicle in Gulistan

A student of Notre Dame College died after being hit by a Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) vehicle in the capital’s Gulistan area on Wednesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Nayeem Hasan, a second-year student of the Humanities department of Notre Dame College.

Salahuddin Mia, officer-in-charge of Paltan Police Station, said that police detained the driver named Md Rasel, 27, and seized the vehicle after the incident.

A hawker, who rescued Nayeem after the accident, said the DSCC vehicle hit the student when he was crossing the road around 11:30 pm.

He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital through a CNG-run auto-rickshaw where doctors declared him dead, he added.
