First SSC exams since pandemic began

The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent exams which started from Sunday morning under special rules marked the first public exams in schools amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Over 2.2 million students across the country are expected to take part in the SSC and equivalent exams maintaining strictly health rules at the centers.
The examination started at 10:00 am after nearly 20 months delay due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent exams are usually held in February.
This year’s SSC exams are being held in reduced syllabuses of three elective subjects while marks will be provided to the rest of the subjects through subject mapping.
While visiting several centers, students were seen using hand sanitizer, maintaining social distance at the school premises.
At some of the centers, infrared thermometers were seen used to check students’ temperature.
