India to issue tourist visa for Bangladeshi from November 15

The Indian government will start issuing tourist visas for Bangladeshi from November 15, Indian High Commissioner Vikram Kumar Doraiswami said.

Vikram Kumar Doraiswami made the remarks while addressing reporters at the Akhaura Land Port in Brahmanbaria on Tuesday.

Initially, only air travellers will be given visas with a four-month validity, the Indian envoy said.

However, he hoped that visas will be issued soon for traveling through land ports and railways.

He later left for India through the land port. He said he will return to Dhaka on November 13.
