Former Minister and Senior Supreme Court Advocate Mahbubur Rahman has passed away. He died at United Hospital in the capital at around 5:25 am on Saturday.
Supreme Court spokesman Md Saifur Rahman confirmed the matter to Dhaka Post.
He was undergoing treatment after being infected with the coronavirus a week ago. He will be buried at the Banani Cemetery after the funereal prayer, he said.
Mahbubur Rahman is the father of Justice Farah Mahbub of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court.
Mahbubur Rahman was the Minister of Religious Affairs and Minister of Education in the Ershad regime. He joined BNP from Jatiya Party in 1996. In 2008 he returned to the Jatiya Party again.
