Jatiya Party Secretary General Bablu passes away

Jatiya Party (JaPa) secretary general Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu has passed away.

He breathed his last around 9:15 am this morning at the Bangladesh Specialized Hospital in the capital.

Jatiya Party chairman’s press secretary Khandaker Delwar Jalali confirmed the matter to Dhaka Post.

Delwar Jalali said that the body would be kept at the Jatiya Party’s central office Kakrail premises from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm to pay homage to Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu. His funeral prayer will be held at Gulshan Azad Mosque after Esha. Following the funeral prayer, the body will be buried at Mirpur Shahid Buddhijibi Graveyard.

According to Jatiya Party sources, Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu was admitted to the hospital on September 6 after contracting coronavirus. He was once taken to life support due to other physical complications including shortness of breath.

He was the Deputy Minister of Education during the rule of former dictator Hussain Muhammad Ershad. He served as the General Secretary of the Jatiya Party for two terms.
