Students aged 12-17 to get Pfizer vaccine

Students aged between 12 and 17 years will receive the Pfizer vaccine.

Health Minister Zahid Maleque made the remarks at a view exchange meeting in Manikganj on Saturday.

Zahid Maleque said, “All preparations have been made to start the vaccination program within the next 15-20 days.”

A 10-crore taka agreement has been signed with World Health Organization (WHO). Bangladesh was put on the red list along with seven other countries across the world. Bangladesh’s name has now been removed from the list by the USA, he added.

Regarding the poor situation of vaccination programs in different countries, he said the Prime Minister of Somalia lost power following the coronavirus outbreak while the situation is similar too for Thailand’s Prime Minister. But we are in good shape.

The minister said that we have vaccinated 2.5 crore people so far.
