‘No more PEC, JSC exams from 2023’

There will be no more Primary Education Completion (PEC) and Junior School Certificate (JSC) examinations from 2023.

Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni came up with the statement while addressing the media at the secretariat on Monday.

The minister also said that subject-based group divisions like Humanitarian, Science and Business Studies will be withdrawn at class nine and ten.

An integrated curriculum will be followed for class nine and ten while the group division will be applicable from class 11 and 12.

Besides, the annual examinations at school levels will start from class four, added Dr. Dipu Moni.

Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday stressed the need for making education programs time-befitting, keeping pace with global educational advancement.
