Medical colleges to reopen from September 13

Health Minister attended a press briefing at the Secretariat

The government has decided to reopen the medical colleges and nursing institutions across the country from September 13 in phases.

Health Minister Zahid Maleque came up with the development during a press briefing at the Secretariat on Thursday.

He said in-person classes will be started initially for first, second and fifth year students at the public-private medical colleges.

Classes for other students will be reopened in phase considering the situation, he added.

All types of medical-related institutions will be opened, said the minister.

When asked about reopening educational institutions, Zahid Maleque said that an inter-ministerial meeting will be held soon on the reopening of schools, colleges, and public universities.

Earlier on Thursday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that measures are being taken to reopen the schools and colleges soon.
