7 killed as microbus plunges into pond in Chakaria

At least seven people were killed and many others were injured as a microbus lost control and plunged into a roadside pond on the Cox’s Bazar-Chattogram Highway in Chakaria.

The incident took place at around 10 am on Sunday at the Chakaria Municipality Commissioner area.

Md Riasat Azim Siddiqui, Medical Officer of Chakaria Hospital, confirmed this information to Dhaka Post.

He said that five people were killed on the spot while two children died after being taken to hospital. A few more injured are being treated at the hospital.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately, he added
