How to stop liking someone

Liking someone or falling in love with someone is a very common thing in our life. Most of the time we have fallen in love with someone we shouldn’t have loved. Maybe you are aware of the matter that the person isn’t right for you. But it is not an easy task for you to forget him or her so fast.

You can only stop liking someone by forgetting the time you spend with them or thinking about them. Stay busy with new friends and new activities are very much essential in this stage to stop liking the people. Let’s have a look at some steps to stop liking someone:

Think of their faults

One way to stop loving someone is to change the way you think about them. Everyone has flaws. You may not be able to see the person’s flaws because you idolize them. Take some time to think about this person’s flaws. It will help you to get rid of like the person blindly.

Maintain distance from them

The proverb ‘out of sight, out of mind’ is a constant here. When you surround yourself with different people and things, that person won’t be at the forefront of your mind. So, it would be a wise decision for you to maintain distance from the person you aimed to avoid or stop liking.

Limit contact with them

Reduce all forms of contact with the person you like. Constantly memorizing them will only make it harder for you to get over them. Remove his number from your phone contact list, delete his emails and remove the person from the social networks.

Connect up old friends or make new

If you have a crush on someone new, you may have started neglecting your social relationships. Get back there and start rekindling old friendships or making new ones. Spending time with good friends can help you feel supported and clear things up.

Be patient

Give yourself time to get over your infatuation with your partner. Emotions don’t go away overnight. Don’t be hard on yourself if you start to miss them or can’t get over them. Accept every thought that comes to mind. Remember that your feelings will fade over time.
