Kangana Ranaut bags ‘best actress’ award

Kangana Ranaut, who has been bouncing from controversy to controversy over the last year, has won the best actress award for her films ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ and ‘Panga’ in the 67th National Film Awards. 

This is Ranaut’s fourth win under the National Film Awards banner.

She won the first National Film Award for the best-supporting actress in the movie ‘Fashion’ in 2008. Her second award came in 2014 for her performance in the movie ‘Queen’ followed by her third win in 2015 for ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’.

Late Sushant Singh Rajput’s movie ‘Chhichore’ has won the best film award in the best Hindi film category.

Manoj Bajpaypee and Dhanush have been named best actors for Hindi film ‘Bhonsle’ and Tamil movie ‘Asuran’.
