Young designer Ariyan wins ‘special honor’ award in IGF 2021

Rafid Ariyan, a young Bangladeshi designer, has won a ‘special honor’ in the IGF 2021 Award - My Internet of the Future Competition organized by the UN Internet Governance Forum (IGF) and Poland government.

Among 550 contestants across the world who participated in the competition, Ariyan is the only Bangladeshi designer who has won this prestigious award for his poster titled ‘Rural Digitalization is Future of the Internet’ in the ‘Poster Design’ category of the competition.

The winners and special honored designs which receive an honorable mention in the competition will be shown in the UN Internet Governance Forum (IGF) 2021 in Katowice.

While talking to Ariyan, he notified that Digital Bangladesh was his main inspiration behind the design.

Regarding the design and award, he said, “The main inspiration for my design was our Digital Bangladesh. I wanted to portray the digital life of the people of Bangladesh in front of the whole world through my design.”

“Finally, I can achieve my goal and I feel proud to be able to represent my country on a global platform,” he added.

Earlier, his design on Rohingya refugees was displayed in the exhibition of Dhaka OIC Youth Capital 2020-21 Bangabandhu - Youth Art Competition.

Notably, Rafid Aryan is currently studying at North South University. He is working with numerous organizations as a volunteer alongside his studies.
