Shakib absent from BPL’s trophy photo session

Shakib Al Hasan was absent from the photo session alongside the trophy on Thursday, a day ahead of the BPL final.

The team officials said that he has suffered from a stomach bug, which prevented him from practicing.

The final is scheduled on Friday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. However, an official of Fortune Barishal said he will be okay to lead the side in the final as his problem is not serious enough, according to the doctors.

In absence of him, Nurul Hasan Sohan came to pose with the trophy with Cumilla Victorians captain Imrul Kayes.

“He practiced yesterday and today he did gym at the hotel but after that he suffered from the stomach problem,” Sohan said.

“I came here to pose with the trophy as the team management asked me to do so.”

Shakib has been in form of his life in the ongoing BPL, performing up to the mark that saw him being adjudged man of the match for the unique record five matches in a row.
