After a superb partnership in the middle, both Mominul Haque and Liton Das went to the pavilion with the regret of missing century against New Zealand on the third day of the first Test at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on Monday.

Mominul scored 88 while Liton managed to score 86 and both of them were removed by Trent Boult within just 29 balls.

Earlier, the 150-run plus partnership between them helped Bangladesh to take lead in the first innings.

After starting the day with 175-2, Bangladesh had a tough morning session on day three as they managed to score just 45 runs for the loss of two wickets before lunch.

Bangladesh went into lunch at 220 for four with Mominul unbeaten on 17 off 98 and Liton on 12 off 17.
